An Enthusiastic Young Fisherman!

This picture is of a young subscriber to my YouTube Channel. He lives in Virginia and his name is Whitt. He is fishing in a great looking private pond. I am told that he is “obsessed with all things fishing.” Sure does remind me when I was his age. Couldn’t get enough of fishing! Fished almost every day during the summer with my good friend Mark.We just couldn’t get enough fishing in. When we weren’t fishing, we talked of fishing! I was told one time that a boy who learns and loves to fish will not get into trouble like a boy who doesn’t fish. There is a better way to keep a boy out of trouble and that is to teach him the ways of the Lord Jesus. Proverbs 1:7 says “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge…” Our job, fathers, is to teach him to love the Lord. Deuteronomy 6:5-7 tells us: “And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: and thous shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” When this is done we can rest assured that we have done our job (really our calling) as fathers, for Proverbs 22:6 tells us: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” A great principle is found here in Deuteronomy 7:12-13: “Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgements, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers. And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee:...” Jesus said: ” I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the father, but by me” (John 14:6). Jesus is the only way to live and the only way to die! So fathers: teach your children to love the Lord and children find Jesus as your Savior! Enjoy your fishing Whitt!

A Great Catch!!
