A Handy Fishin’ Rod??

Like a lot of fishermen whenever I am driving and I see a body of water, my first thought is: “Is there any fish in it?” Usually, my second though is: “I don’t have a rod with me.” Well, the other day I came across this collapsible cat rod on Facebook the other day. Check it out. It may solve the problem of trying to transport a large rod in a small car or a small pickup. I am not endorsing this product or even recommending it. Just thought I would share it because it seemed like a good idea. Check it out in the above link.

Many Thanks!

I want to thank a few people in this post. First, my youngest son Tell, who is a software engineer, made this website possible. He did all the background work so I could get this website up and running. Without his expertise and knowledge, I would be lost. Also, he did many things to make my logo and my business cards become a reality. And I know he will be there when I am ready for my line of merchandise. So, thank you Tell!! Second, I want to thank my oldest son, Ty. He was the one who originally encouraged me to start a YouTube channel in the first place. He was the one who gave me a GoPro to start doing videos. He also helped me figure out how to use and upload videos to YouTube. So, thank you Ty!! Thirdly, I want to thank my wife Dianne and my daughter Echo for encouraging me along the way and for allowing me the opportunity to fish often. So, thank you my dear wife and Echo. Fourthly, I want to thank all of my friends and loyal subscribers to my channel. Without your encouragement and support my channel would cease to exist. So, thank you everyone. Fifthly (this actually should be first), I want to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For without his favor and mercy I would be nothing. So, thank you Jesus for being so good to me!! I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5

FV-Catfish.com

Just wanted to give a shout out to my son, Captain Ty. He runs FV-Catfish Charter Service on the Tennessee River. He fishes for monster catfish with a typical guide trip boating 40+ catfish and fish weighing in the 60-100lb range. He can take up to 4 people for a 8 hour guide trip. Check out his website to book the trip of a lifetime. Also check out his YouTube channel for some great action from his guide trips.

July 4th

Hope everyone had a safe 4th of July. With so many things happening in our country (many of them not good), I hope we take some time this weekend to reflect on the sacrifice it took to secure the freedom we enjoy today. From the American Revolution, where men gave their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to secure a Republic and our earthly freedom for us; down thru 2 world wars until now, with men and women still serving so we can keep that Republic. We would do well to honor them. Most of all, let us not forget the One upon whom this country is founded and the One who died on a cross to secure for us eternal freedom. May God find it in His heart to still bless America.

Great Company but Lousy Fishing!!

Beautiful evening and great fishing partner but lousy fishing. Went to a very small private pond last night where we have caught channel cats before, but not tonight. The owner Chris was a good host, but we just couldn’t get hooked up on anything. Tried bottom rigs and suspended rigs with cut up chicken and cut up tilapia. Derrick caught a few bluegill and that was all. Spent about 3 hours out there. The conversation was good and so were the sugar free chocolate cookies. So as fisherman always do, we will certainly go back and try again. Presented Derrick with a new medium heavy Shakespeare cat rod and reel. Great to see the look on his face.
